The XH-W1209 12V Digital Thermostat is a high-performance, low-cost temperature control solution designed for both precision and ease of use. This versatile controller is capable of managing both heating and cooling systems, making it an essential component for incubators, terrariums, home brewing setups, industrial cabinets, and DIY thermal management projects.
Equipped with a bright three-digit LED display and a waterproof NTC thermistor probe, the XH-W1209 allows for real-time monitoring and automated switching. Its onboard high-current relay ensures it can drive a variety of loads reliably, providing professional-grade climate control in a compact form factor.
Key Features
  • Dual Mode Functionality: Easily switch between Heating (H) and Cooling (C) modes via the internal settings menu.
  • High Precision Control: Offers temperature control in increments of 0.1°C, ensuring tight thermal regulation.
  • Waterproof Sensor Probe: Includes a 50cm NTC (10K 0.5%) waterproof probe, suitable for measuring temperatures in liquids or humid environments.
  • Onboard Memory: Built-in storage retains your programmed settings even after a power failure; no need to re-configure after a shutdown.
  • Adjustable Hysteresis: Programmable “setback” or “swing” settings allow you to define exactly when the device turns on and off to prevent rapid cycling and extend the life of your equipment.
  • Embedded Mounting: The compact PCB design is ideal for panel mounting or integration into custom enclosures.
Usage Guidelines
  1. Powering Up: Connect a 12V DC power supply to the +12V and GND terminals. The current temperature will appear on the LED display.
  2. Setting the Target Temperature: Press the SET button briefly. Use the + and  buttons to adjust the target temperature. Press SET again to confirm.
  3. Configuring Parameters (P0-P6): Long-press the SET button for 5 seconds to enter the internal menu:
    • P0 (Heat/Cool): Set to ‘H’ for heating or ‘C’ for cooling.
    • P1 (Hysteresis): Set the difference between ON and OFF (e.g., if set to 2°C, and target is 30°C, it kicks back on at 28°C).
    • P2/P3: Set the upper and lower safety limits.
    • P4 (Correction): Calibrate the sensor if there is a slight temperature discrepancy.
    • P5 (Delay Start): Set a delay (0-10 minutes) to protect compressors (useful for refrigerators).
    • P6 (High Temp Alarm): Set a maximum temperature for an emergency shut-off.
Q: Can this device control 220V AC equipment?

Yes. While the board itself requires 12V DC to power its brain and display, the relay acts as a “dry contact” switch. You can wire 220V AC through the relay terminals (K0/K1) to power a heater or fan

Q: Does it come with a power supply?

No. This is the controller module and sensor probe only. You will need a standard 12V DC power adapter (at least 200mA) to operate it

Q: My display shows "---" or "LLL". What is wrong?

A: “—“ usually indicates the sensor is disconnected or damaged. “LLL” indicates the temperature is below the measurement range (-50°C). Ensure the sensor plug is firmly seated in the white socket

Q: Is the sensor probe safe to put in a fish tank?

Yes. the probe is waterproof. However, we recommend sealing the connection point between the wire and the probe with heat-shrink tubing or aquarium-safe silicone for long-term underwater submersion.

Q: Is this suitable for commercial incubator manufacturing?

Absolutely. For business purchasers, the XH-W1209 is highly valued for its low failure rate and consistent calibration, making it a staple in commercial hatcheries and temperature-sensitive storage units

Q: Can I extend the sensor cable?

Yes. You can extend the wire using standard 2-core copper wire. However, extending it over 5 meters may introduce resistance that requires calibration using the P4 setting.
