Description

The ZP10010-2Q is a dual-ball float switch designed for liquid level detection and control in small tanks, aquariums, water dispensers, and household appliances. The “2Q” designation typically indicates a double-float configuration, which allows more sophisticated level control than a single-float switch—such as maintaining a level between two set points or triggering separate high/low alarms .

It operates on a passive magnetic reed principle: magnetic floats move along the stem as liquid level changes, actuating sealed reed switches inside the tube to open or close a circuit . The switch requires no external power for the sensing element—it is a dry contact device that simply makes or breaks a connection when the float reaches its actuation point.

The PP (polypropylene) construction is food-grade and resistant to weak acids and alkalis, making it suitable for potable water and light chemical applications . With a contact rating of 10W and a switching current of 0.5A, this switch is intended for low-power control circuits—it cannot directly control pumps, solenoid valves, or AC contactors. A small relay is required for such loads . The float orientation can be manually adjusted to convert between Normally Closed (NC) and Normally Open (NO) operation; the factory default is NC when mounted with the float hanging downward .

Critical limitations: This is a passive switch, not a continuous level transmitter. The contact rating is limited to 0.5A—do not connect pumps, solenoids, or motors directly without a relay. The liquid must not contain ferrous powder, which can interfere with the magnetic float operation .

Features

  • Dual-Ball Configuration (2Q variant): Two floats allow more sophisticated level control than single-float switches, such as maintaining a level between two set points .

  • PP Food-Grade Body: Polypropylene construction suitable for potable water and weak chemical environments; acid and alkali resistant .

  • Passive Magnetic Reed Operation: No power supply required for the sensing element; the float magnet actuates the sealed reed switch .

  • 10W / 0.5A Contact Rating: Suitable for low-power control circuits, PLC inputs, and relay coils.

  • Configurable NC/NO Operation: Factory default NC; manually adjust the float direction and circlip to convert to NO .

  • 40cm Cable Length: Provides routing flexibility for control panel connections (confirmed for some ZP10010 variants) .

  • M10 Thread: Approximately 10mm thread diameter for standard tank fittings .

  • Wide Application Compatibility: Used in aquariums, water dispensers, coffee machines, water heaters, and small tanks .
