This 5000W High-Power SCR Electronic Voltage Regulator is a professional-grade power control solution housed in a rugged, protective metal casing. Engineered for heavy-duty AC applications, it provides precise stepless regulation for high-wattage equipment. By utilizing a high-performance bidirectional silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR), this unit allows users to manage voltage output with a simple turn of a knob, making it an essential tool for industrial heating, commercial lighting, and motor speed management.
The integrated metal housing not only provides physical protection against impacts and dust but also acts as an auxiliary heat sink and provides electrical shielding. This makes it a preferred choice for workshops, laboratories, and commercial kitchens where reliability and safety are paramount.
Key Features
  • Massive Power Capacity: Supports resistive loads up to 5000W, making it suitable for large industrial heaters, electric furnaces, and high-intensity lighting arrays.
  • Rugged Metal Housing: Durable aluminum/steel enclosure protects internal components and ensures safe operation in demanding environments.
  • Stepless Precision Control: High-quality potentiometer allows for smooth, linear adjustment from 10V up to the full 220V input.
  • Advanced Thermal Management: Equipped with an internal oversized thickened heatsink to maintain optimal performance during continuous high-current operation.
  • Safety Safeguards: Features an RC snubber circuit and high-voltage absorption capacitors to prevent damage from inductive voltage spikes and surges.
  • Heavy-Duty Terminals: High-current copper terminal blocks ensure secure, low-resistance connections for thick-gauge electrical wiring.
Usage Guidelines
  1. Wiring: Connect your AC power source to the Input terminals and your device to the Output terminals. Warning: You must connect a load (e.g., a heater or lamp) before you can measure or adjust the voltage effectively.
  2. Startup: Ensure the knob is turned to the minimum position (counter-clockwise) before applying power to prevent sudden electrical stress on your equipment.
  3. Adjustment: Gradually rotate the knob clockwise to reach the desired heat, brightness, or speed level.
  4. Load Management:
    • Resistive Loads: (Electric Ovens, Water Heaters, Incandescent Bulbs) Safe up to 5000W peak.
    • Inductive Loads: (Brushed Motors, Power Tools, Fans) Should not exceed 1500W–1800W to accommodate high startup inrush currents.
  5. Environment: Ensure the unit is placed in a ventilated area. The metal housing can become warm during high-load operation; this is normal heat dissipation
Q: Can this regulator be used with a 3-phase motor or a brushless motor?

No. This unit is designed for single-phase AC 220V only. It is compatible with Brushed (Universal) Motors only. It will not work on induction motors (like those in refrigerators) or 3-phase industrial motors

Q: Why is the continuous power rating lower than the 5000W peak?

5000W is the maximum “instantaneous” resistive load the thyristor can handle. For business and industrial users running equipment for hours at a time, we recommend a 2200W-2500W limit to prevent thermal fatigue and ensure the longevity of the device

Q: Will this work to dim LED lights?

This regulator is a “Leading Edge” phase-cut dimmer. It works perfectly with incandescent and halogen bulbs. However, it is not compatible with most LED or fluorescent bulbs unless they are specifically labeled as “Triac Dimmable.”

Q: Is the metal housing grounded?

Yes, for safety, the metal enclosure should be connected to your system’s ground wire to prevent the risk of electric shock in the event of an internal fault

Q: Can this be used for commercial coffee roasters or pizza ovens?

Absolutely. Business purchasers frequently use the 5000W model for fine-tuning the heating elements in roasters, kilns, and commercial ovens where precise temperature control is required for product consistency

Q: Does it produce electrical noise (EMI)?

Like all SCR-based controllers, it produces some electromagnetic interference due to phase switching. While it includes an RC absorption circuit, it should be kept away from sensitive audio or high-precision radio equipment
