Description
The 801S Vibration Switch Sensor Module is a compact, omnidirectional shock and vibration detection board designed for anti-theft alarms, motion-triggered wake-up circuits, and mechanical vibration monitoring. Its sensing element is the 801S vibration probe, a cylindrical component containing a flexible spring suspended around a central pin. At rest, the spring does not make contact. When subjected to shock or vibration, inertia causes the spring to oscillate and briefly touch the metal housing, closing the circuit for a fraction of a second . An onboard LM393 comparator converts these rapid, bouncing contact closures into a clean digital output, with a potentiometer allowing sensitivity (trigger threshold) adjustment .
This 3-pin version provides only a digital output (DO)—it lacks the analog output (AO) found on some 4-pin variants . The module operates from 3.3V to 5V, making it directly compatible with Arduino, ESP32, and most microcontroller platforms. Detection is non-directional (omnidirectional), meaning it responds to vibration from any axis . The compact PCB typically measures approximately 32×14mm or 41×15mm depending on the batch, with mounting holes for secure installation .
Important limitation: This module detects the presence of vibration/shock, not its magnitude, frequency, or direction . The output pulse is brief; for sustained alarm signaling, a microcontroller latch or monostable circuit is required.
