Description
The DHT11 Temperature and Humidity Sensor Module without LED [Non-Original] is a stripped-down, cost-optimized version of the familiar DHT11 sensor board. It provides basic ambient temperature and relative humidity measurement over a simple single-wire digital interface, but omits the onboard LED indicator found on some variants — reducing cost and power consumption for volume projects where visual feedback is unnecessary.
The module combines a resistive humidity sensing element with an NTC temperature measurement component and an integrated 8-bit microcontroller. It includes an onboard pull-up resistor and a 3-pin connector, making it ready for direct connection to Arduino and other microcontrollers. The Non-Original designation indicates this is a third-party manufactured variant, offering the same basic functionality and pinout as the original ASAIR DHT11 at a lower price point.
The DHT11 (Non-Original, no LED) provides humidity measurements from 20% to 90% RH with ±5% RH accuracy, and temperature measurements from 0°C to 50°C with ±2°C accuracy. The sensor operates from 3.3V to 5.5V DC, drawing approximately 1mA during measurement and 60µA in standby.
Important Note: This is a basic, cost-sensitive sensor with limitations that should be understood before use. The Non-Original variant may exhibit greater unit-to-unit variation and long-term drift than the original ASAIR DHT11. Its 1°C/1%RH resolution and ±2°C/±5%RH accuracy make it unsuitable for precision applications. The sampling rate is limited to once every 1–2 seconds. The resistive humidity element can drift over long-term exposure to extreme humidity or contaminants. The absence of an LED means no visual status feedback — you must rely on serial output for troubleshooting. For higher accuracy or wider measurement ranges, consider the DHT22 (AM2302) or a digital sensor like the SHT series. The sensor is not waterproof and should be kept dry.
Whether you are building a simple weather station, a humidity controller, or an educational project, the DHT11 (Non-Original, no LED) provides a reliable, affordable entry point for basic digital environmental sensing in cost-sensitive volume applications.
