This type of modem is used in some modern smartphones. The L index indicates that the modem can operate in low power mode. To connect the SIM800L to the Arduino you will need a silicon diode with at least 500 mA and a 100 uF x 10 V electrolytic capacitor or a buck power converter with at least 1000 mA
